I set out to create a simple photograph of a flower arrangement reminiscent of classical still life paintings I had seen years ago. A table that my wife painted and a vase I found in a local thrift store and repainted were integral parts of the scene, which was photographed in my dining room (which could barely house all the lights!). When I walked in to a local floral shop I found the most incredible Stargazer lilies I had ever seen, and we decided on an arrangement around those. This photograph is the end result. It's one of my favorites, and I have a small print of this on display at The Walnut Gallery in Louisville, Colorado in a solid cherry frame that I made in my wood shop. I now also have many lilies planted in my garden!
